As a Marine Renewable Energy research, I also read few papers claiming that they observed the growth of some endangered species of coral reef were restored on the offshore wind turbines basements and mooring lines.

If I'm not wrong there's also some active research going on to place structures with certain shapes which can be favorable for reef growth.
